Topic: Which reeds are "the best?"

...it's complicated

Yeah, I know...it's complicated....or who cares? Well, I thought it might be fun to get a discussion started.

I like old LaVoz hard reeds. The ones that are almost brown. Most new reeds don't seem to be aged properly, so I hunt for old boxes. They have a nice bite to them...I like resistance. The drawback is they don't last very long.

I have found good boxes of Rico Jazz Select...3M, unfiled. They usually all play out of the box, a big time saver as I am prone to working reeds in for days.
